All Your Sleep Aid Needs
There is a whole host of sleep problems that anyone can suffer from but some of the ones that are more common among adults are insomnia, sleep apnea, narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome which all need the proper sleep aids (think beyond the fact that some of the names seem like they were invented by a Yale graduate and others seem like they were drawn by a kindergarten girl). Now my personal favorite number is that over 40 million Americans suffer from insomnia, and most of them aren’t even diagnosed. You are not alone; they can kill you at every corner.Sleep is when your body does its best healing from injury or sicknessBut let’s move just one step back and make sure we are all talking about the same thing when we say sleep. Get it out of your laymen head that sleep is just a break from work. Sleep is not synonymous with watching football on TV. Sleep is when your body gets him together again. Sleep aid can help you make sure you can handle tomorrow’s cognitive and emotional tasks without coming apart at the seams. Sleep is when your body does its best healing from injury or sickness and it’s when it moves past the troubles of today in order to better cope with those of tomorrow.
They estimate that it costs businesses about fifteen billion dollarsI hope you hear me loud and clear when I tell you that insomnia brings with it nothing even remotely productive. It ruins your relationships, your career and your, well, for lack of a better word, life. If you don’t believe me just look at the numbers the National Transportation Safety Board put out about sleep and its implications. They estimate that it costs businesses about fifteen billion (!!!) dollars in lost productivity because their workers are sleepy and which sleep aids could help them a lot. Further more the police report that over one hundred thousand accidents are because the drivers were drowsy (even if you are an every day mighty mouse do you really think that one of the other millions of those suffering from insomnia wont go out to the street today?).Some of the more "popular" sleep disorder is irregular sleep patternsIf you want a list of sleep disorders so that you can self diagnose then you should remember that there are over 84 sleep disorders out there and to there is a sleep aid solution to most of them. So if you really want to do this yourself you will need a copy of a DSM-IV and of a Grays Anatomy (this is the only medical text book I am aware of, it might not even be the one you need, but you get the picture). Some of the more "popular" sleep disorders though are irregular sleep patterns, sleepwalking (that might be outright dangerous from the get go so make sure that you take care of it), nightmares and of course the infamous insomnia. Some of the others you might have heard of are restless leg syndrome, snoring and sleep apnea.
Some of the specialists you might have to visit are neurologistsFor many of the sleep disorders the cure is simple. The problem is in one physical system or another. All the doctor has to do is what he is paid for, find it and give you a bottle of sleep aid pills to treat it. Now some of the specialists you might have to visit are neurologists (great with narcolepsy) and there is pulmonary medicine (which is great if you have sleep apnea). The only thing you have to do is show up at your general practitioner and it’s their job to take care of you from there.
Without proper treatment and sleep aids insomnia can damage your healthIf you think you have insomnia then chances are your correct, it’s the most common ailment among adults. What happens with insomnia (as if you don’t know already) is that you have a really hard time falling asleep and even once you do you wake up al the time and eventually wake up for you day to early and untested. without the proper treatment and suitable sleep aids insomnia can last several nights and right into years, so whatever stage you have it at, its not to early to get it looked at and hopefully taken care of.
You should also only go to bed if you actually feel sleepy and tiredIf you’re looking for ways to take care of your sleep issues and avoid the doctor and taking sleep aids while doing it then you can make sure that your behavioral sleep pattern remains the same. Go to bed every night and wake up every morning at the same time. You should also only go to bed if you actually feel sleepy and you should relax before bedtime. this means that you can read something, eat something (the female in me that is always looking for pop ways to loose weight cant believe I just told you to eat something right before bed, but its your call, waist line or psychotic episodes in a board meeting or during class).
Really anything that you think might relax you is a good idea for insomniaJust make sure your grandmother things it’s relaxing to, no punk rock at midnight. Another great way to help you fall asleep without relying on any sleep aids and to help you loose weight is if you exercise. The problem with this is that it only works if you do it about six hours before you even lay out your pajamas. If you exercise right before bed time then all you end up with is a stimulated mind and body and would have been easier to fall asleep if you had just injected heroin. Just make sure your everyday life runs on a smooth and steady clock and the insomnia will work itself out.
