There have also been several linkages between sleeping problems and other diseases. In many cases though, it may be the disease that causes the sleeping disorder. Many of the triggers of the sleeping problems have to do with the circumstances that an individual is dealing with.
Stress and anxiety can cause lack of sleep and in cases where an individual has many stressful events such as financial setbacks and divorce among others, it tends to wear off the mind and the body does not respond well to irregular sleep patterns. Sleep may be affected by ailments of the body that cause pain and conditions like arthritis are known to cause pain to the sufferer and this interferes with sleep.
Some lifestyle habits such as excessive consumption of alcohol and caffeinated drinks especially at night can affect the bodily functions that keep one awake as well as give you numerous trips to the bathroom.
The Real Danger Is When Your Sleep Problem Becomes Chronic
Now if we are just discussing the one timer of being excited from a great day [I hope], then you might miss a good nights sleep, but I cant see how that would be to terrible. What do I mean are you asking? Well its very simple, once of anything isn’t to bad [don’t take that to the bank, its only my silly notion].
But if its becoming a problem then go to the doctor and tell him you cant sleep, the fact is a person can die from acute insomnia. Remember that chronic sleep problems can cause heart problems Now don’t really jump to the conclusion that what I just said is that if you cant sleep the day before your wedding then you wont live to see your next birthday.
Some stress and some lack of sleep over the course of a lifetime is mandatory if you want to consider yourself a living breathing human being. Now these are some major issues that I cant really get into because I cant really speak intelligently about them, but it should be enough to say that high blood pressure or strokes don’t even sound joyous to a layperson.
What If The Fact That You Can Sleep Is Actually A Medical Condition
Then the doctor might recommend exercise or a healthier diet. The fact is that both of these have been linked to sleep disorders. But if you do end up with the exercise route, let me just recommend that you don’t do it right before bed. Exercise increases adrenaline and as such the energy levels are higher than normal and sleep is hard if not impossible.
So if your doing the healthy thing, do it before sleep, and even much before sleep if you can. This way you wont have to live with another night in which the fact that you cant sleep is the only thing you can think about.
The Easiest Ways of Tackling Your Sleeping Problem
The best action one can take to deal with the situational factors includes avoiding any kind of stimulants such as nicotine, caffeine as well as alcohol. These substances give the body a ‘pick up’ meaning one is likely to keep awake for a longer time. Reduction in fluid intake just before sleeping is a way of reducing the need to go to the bathroom which affects the pattern of sleep. If one has a prescription of diuretics or water tablets, it is better to take them earlier on in the day.
Exercising is good for the body but it should not be done close to bedtime. Vigorous exercise is not recommended before sleeping as it will take time for the body to cool down after being energized. This is likely to affect sleep. Ensure that the sleeping environment is conducive and there is no noise or anything distractive during bedtime. Maintaining a healthy diet and a regular sleeping routine are also known to promote good sleeping patterns.
